Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background and your artistic journey?

Antoinette: Been so blessed to have a draw to the creative field since grade school and kept up with it through higher education. From physical media to graphic design, the blend of technology with art is my current fixation and where I want to improve upon into the future.

Q: How would you describe your artistic style in a few words?

Antoinette: I would describe it as illustrative, narratively-driven, and youthful.

Q: Are there specific themes or elements that consistently appear in your work?

Antoinette: I tend to love using vector imagery in my art. Makes for very smooth texture work.

Q: Are there other artists, movements, or cultures that influence your style?

Antoinette: The art movement I have been a fan of the closest has been the Art Nouveau era. The famed artist Alphonse Mucha comes to mind.

Q: Do you have a favorite piece you created for this project? If so, what makes it special to you?

Antoinette: Yes! It’s the icon design for Garnet Island. Again, organic and flowy linework, very Art Nouveau inspired.

Q: Are there specific techniques or tools you prefer using?

Antoinette: I’m such a diehard for Adobe Illustrator; we are inseparable.

Q: What advice would you give to aspiring artists looking to make a mark in the creative industry?

Antoinette: Honestly, I’m still learning myself. But if we knew all the answers, we wouldn’t have personal growth. I think the advice I am trying to heed myself is that it is ok to not be perfect and to not be afraid to fall flat on your face at first. It’s better than not taking a chance at all.

Q: What are your future artistic aspirations or projects you're excited about?

Antoinette: I really want to hone my web design skills for my personal portfolio. As much as I love my illustrative work, I feel diversifying my portfolio is the right step onward and upward.
